Binge Drinking

STEVE'S RANTING ABOUT BINGE DRINKING...

Did anyone see the article in the Daily Mail on the 1st of April 2008 by Matthew Hickley? 'Hospitals See Huge Rise In Drink-Related Admission' - well I say this article is debatable! (no offense to the Daily Mail or to Matthew Hickley!)

The article infers that the longer drinking hours in pubs is responsible for youth binge drinking - RUBBISH!! The real story is that pubs don't sell to kids! The supermarkets do though - in fact they can now sell alcoholic drinks all the hours of the day and night - 7 days a week - they are also selling and advertising less than cost booze to these kids with little or no regards to who they are selling it to.

Oh I know there is a law about selling alcohol to under 18's but half of the kids look older than there young ages, the other half know someone who is 18 and can buy it for them and what's the bet they only every get asked for ID every now and then anway.

Real pubs sell real ale - binge drinking is about alco-pops and cheep thrills on the street corner. It takes time to make real beer - if you drink in the great English establishment that is the local pub you appreciate your pint - you don't BINGE.

Tighter laws for Supermarkets will see these Drink-Related accidents lessen not shortened drinking hours at your local. What do you think?

The engineers from Microdat have been excellent and it's been a pleasure working with them over the last few days. I feel we have built an excellent relationship with them which can only help to ensure the success of the remaining phases of the project
