Pick and Place Trip Keg Filler
The demonstration shows a Microdat Pick & Place Palletiser feeding a twin head keg filler module, the pallet stands would normally be replaced by an infeed pallet conveyor, which would deliver a pallet of empty kegs ready for filling.
The Pick & Place Palletiser would then collect two kegs from the pallet and transfer them to the infeed conveyor.
The two empty kegs would then transfer by conveyor into the filler as a pair. At the filler the head would be lowered to clamp and seal the keg.
The filling head in this top fill keg filler has been specially designed for filling lightly constructed kegs such as the Ecokeg and the new Ecokeg Box keg. The filler may also be used on standard Aluminium and Stainless Steel Kegs.
The top filler has been specially designed to provide a high beer flow through the core of the head and into the spear so that 50 and 30 litre kegs can be filled on each head. The twin head module shown can deliver a consistent 100 (30 litre) kegs per hour. The Pick and Place Palletiser can provide kegs to at least 6 filling heads giving a fully automated keg plant and can be assembled with production rates 600 (30 litre) kegs per hour for a very low cost compared to a tradition keg plant.
The special top fill filling head has also been designed to provide a clean dry spear at the end of the fill so that it can be used on cardboard and similar boxed kegs.
When the kegs are full they will then transfer to the discharge conveyor and empty new kegs move into the filler.
Finally the Pick & Place will collect the full kegs and move them from the conveyor onto the full’s discharge pallet.
In an actual plant, the pallet conveyor system will transfer the empty pallet to the full keg pallet loading location and take the full pallets out to be collected by a fork truck.
If required capping and labelling options can be added to the filler modules to deliver a full and ready for sale keg.
Other options such as pallet de-stacking and re-stacking can also be added to the system.
