Single Head Keg Top Filler

This Single Head Keg Top Filler  is a simple and effective solution for the small brewer or those wanting to fill small batch runs of new and different products.  It is especially useful for the new range of one-trip kegs produced by Ecokeg in both plastic drum and the new box form. There are some very unique features in this product, which makes it ideal for the new box style kegs, which generally cannot handle a top pressure clamp to seal the spear. The semi automatic keg top filler uses a special clamp and seal arrangement to connect the filling head to the spear, which provides a very quick, secure connection, which can be automatically, released providing a small but very productive unit.

The alternative such as a modified dispense coupler can be used on this machine to provide a very low cost unit but the fillers performance will also be scientifically reduced as the coupler has to be both be connected by the operator and released by the operator.

The swing boom arrangement makes maximum us of the machine and operator as the first keg can be connected and filled whilst the operator get the next keg and positions it next to the filling keg. Once the first keg is full it will release automatically, the operator can then simply connect the next prepared keg and set it filling. The operator can label and cap the filled keg and get the next empty keg ready.

The beer supply on this filling machine is via Microdat’s Green filling system, which uses an HMP (hygienic metering pump) to control beer flow to fill the keg. This system does not require a gas-pressurised keg to control the fill; the keg simply requires being pre-purged to exclude air and O2.

The HMP then rotates at the appropriate speed and for the required number of revolutions to provide a smooth metered fill. As the HMP is included in the package to set up a filling system you thus only require either sterile beer in a supply vessel or beer in a vessel and a sterile filter.
