CW30 - CW80 Modular Cask Washer
The basic washer module is built onto two tanks the prewash (hot wash reclaim tank) and a detergent tank. Each tank is fitted with its own hose pump, which extracts liquor direct from the tank. The fluid from the pump is then piped direct to the wash nozzle with out any need for fluidcontrol valves. To wash with either re-claimed hot liqupr to Pre-wash or Detergent the appropriate pump is simply switched on to run.
The actual wash nozzle is Microdat's well tried and tested simple solid cone wide angle spray nozzle which when combined with 5 to 6 bar pulsed washing gives a very good physical clean to the internals of any cask. The liquor from the wash drops out of the cask and runs own to the collection tray and through one of three automatic drain divert valves. Two valves drop the liquid via removable filter trays into the tanks below the third drops the liquor to the 2-inch drain line. The drain line runs across the washer at the front connecting to either the next module or to drain point at either end of the washer. The drain then drops into a small tank with a mesh basket fitted to remove any solids before the liquor is discharged to the main drainage system.
The modular washer is supplied complete with its control system, which monitors the final rinse temperature to ensure that correct washing is always achieved, indicator lamps signals which part of the process is active Pre-washing, Detergent wash and Final Hot Rinse. We can also add to this module a final steaming facility, which gives the cask the ultimate in terms of sterility. To protect the operator during washing we have a simple but effective fail safe system built into the washer. A trip arm is activated by the cask when it is placed on the washing cradle this weighted arm flags a proximity switch which must remain covered during washing, if the signal is lost washing will be suspended.
